Downtown Rehabilitation Assistance

The City of Waseca offers two Downtown Rehabilitation Assistance Programs, one for Commercial properties and one for Residential Rental properties. These programs are offered in an effort to:

  1. Provide financial assistance for local business and residential rental property owners to rehabilitate their properties, their neighborhoods, and the community as a whole;
  2. Increase the financial involvement of public agencies and private lending institutions in the improvement of the commercial and residential rental building stock in the City;
  3. Make a visible and substantial impact upon building conditions, community appearance, and overall quality of life in the area; and
  4. Provide safe, decent, sanitary, and affordable housing for lower income families; the physical rehabilitation of existing housing; and to increase the availability of affordable housing units.

The City of Waseca Community Development Department Administers these programs through use of an outside professional project manager. Contact Kimberly Johnson, AICP, Planning Director for program details.
