2022 sidewalk improvement project
Improvements to intersection of 2nd Ave NE & 2nd St NE

Project Description: This annual project involves primarily the replacement of defective and deteriorated sidewalk and the upgrading of sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards.  Deteriorated curb and gutter may also be replaced as part of this project.  The locations vary and are generally selected by City staff based on resident feedback, overall condition, and level of use.  This year's project consisted of ADA ramp upgrades at the intersection of 2nd Ave NE and 2nd St NE.

Project Status: On April 7th, three (3) bids were received with the lowest being from Nielsen Concrete LLC in the amount of $55,275.00.  The project was awarded at the April 19th City Council meeting and work began June 14th.  This project was substantially completed on June 22nd with remaining patching, dirt work, and seeding completed by City forces.

Project Costs & Funding: Total project construction cost was $56,362.82.  Because 2nd Ave NE is a State Aid Street, these improvements qualified for, and received State Aid reimbursement for 100% of the construction costs.
