2023 Sanitary & Storm Sewer Repairs

Project Description: This project involved the replacement of a sanitary sewer riser pipe and services on 2nd Ave NW approximately 200 feet west of 4th St NW and storm sewer improvements at the following locations:

1. 3^rd St NW & 9^th Ave NW (installed a manhole and flapper valve to relieve back yard flooding east of 3^rd St NW during high rainfall events)
2. 6^th St NE (repaired a failing 42” storm pipe outlet to the City Marsh)
3. 17^th Ave NE just west of 4^th St NE (installed larger pipe and catch basins to reduce street flooding during high rainfall events)

Project Status: On August 15th, a total of five (5) bids were received for this project with the lowest bid being from Selly Excavating Inc. in the amount of $103,509.  Construction began the week of September 25th and the project was completed on October 23rd.

Project Costs & Funding: Construction costs on this project totaled $81,675.43.  The sanitary sewer repairs on 2^nd Ave NW totaled $24,667.43 and were funded through available 2023 sanitary sewer utility capital improvement funds.  The storm sewer improvements on 3^rd St NW, 6^th St NE, and 17^th Ave NE totaled $57,008.00 and were funded with budgeted 2023 storm sewer utility capital improvement funds.  City staff completed project design and inspection.
