2024 Sidewalk Improvements

(includes Downtown Brick Replacement - Stage 1)

Project Description: This annual project involves primarily the replacement of defective and deteriorated sidewalk and the upgrading of sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards.  Deteriorated curb and gutter may also be replaced as part of this project.  The locations vary and are generally selected by City staff based resident feedback, overall condition, and level of use.  The ADA sidewalk ramp upgrades typically coincide with the locations of upcoming Street Enhancements.

This year, in addition to various spot sidewalk and curb and gutter repairs throughout the City, the sidewalk ramps on 5th Street SW at 7th Ave SW and at Johnson Ave will be upgraded to current ADA standards ahead of planned Street Enhancements.

Also included with these sidewalk improvements will be Stage 1 of the Downtown Brick Replacement Project.  This project involves the removal of the deteriorating brick pavers in the downtown sidewalk along State Hwy 13 and replacing them with standard concrete.  Work on Stage 1 will be limited to the east side of State Hwy 13 between Elm Ave and just north of the RR tracks.  Please click on the map below to view the expected locations of all 4 Stages (2024 - 2027) of this project:
