2nd & 3rd Ave SE Reconstruction and Utility Improvements Project

Project Description: Reconstruction and utility improvements along 2nd Avenue SE and 3rd Avenue SE from 3rd Street SE to 5th Street SE.  The scope of work included removal of the existing pavement, grading, subbase, subdrains, new bituminous pavement, ADA sidewalk and ramps, water main and service replacements, sanitary sewer main and service replacements, and storm sewer improvements. 

Project Status: The final surface layer of asphalt was completed on August 4th.  Final restoration and sod was completed along 3rd Avenue the week of August 30th. 

Project Assessments: Assessment notices have been mailed to impacted property owners and an assessment hearing was held on October 19th.  On or before November 22nd, assessments may be paid to the City of Waseca.  After November 22nd, payments must be made to the Waseca County Auditors Office.  For more information, please call the Waseca Engineering Department at 507-835-9730.

Project Costs & Funding: This project was designed and inspected by City staff.  The total construction cost was $1,038,044.99 and the total project cost was $1,168,460.38.  This project was primarily funded by the City with approximately 10% of the total project cost having been assessed to adjacent benefiting property owners.
