Project Description: This project involved the complete reconstruction of the intersection of 2nd Street SW and 2nd Avenue SW, which was prioritized and scheduled due to storm sewer deterioration and a sinkhole that had developed as a result near the northeast corner of the intersection.  The scope of work included storm sewer improvements, water main replacement, new bituminous street pavement, and new ADA sidewalk ramps. 

Project Status: A total of four (4) bids for this project were opened on March 2nd.  The low bid of $244,702.33 was from Dirt Merchant Inc. who was awarded the project on March 7th.  Construction began May 15th and the project was substantially completed on June 20th.  Project final acceptance occurred on October 3rd. 

Project Costs & Funding: Construction costs totaled $270,625.80.  This project was funded through State Aid construction and maintenance funds ($204,881.25) and the Water Utility ($65,744.55).  City staff completed project design and also performed project inspection.
